Connecting your account

Prove which TMX accounts are yours, once. After that your finishes count as one player on the leaderboards, your completion role keeps itself up to date, and both the website and the Discord bot know who you are.

You only need to connect one account

If you use the same mania.exchange login across the exchanges — the normal case, since it is the account you log in to TMX with — then connecting any one of your TMX accounts is enough. Every other account under that login is recognised automatically and appears straight away, on the site and in /whoami. You do not have to add them one by one.

Only two cases need a second code: a second TMX account on the same exchange, and accounts under a different mania.exchange login. Then connect one account per login, and everything under each of them follows.

How it works

Takes about a minute
  1. Find your TMX UserId

It is the number in your TMX profile URL. Open your profile on the exchange and read it off the address bar:

    https://tmnf.exchange/usershow/123456

That number — not your display name — is what identifies the account. You can do several at once, and accounts on different exchanges are separate: link each one.

  2. Ask for a code

Either place works, and they write to the same list — start in one and finish in the other if you like.

On the website: sign in with Discord, go to your profile, pick the exchange, paste your UserId, press Get code.

In Discord: type /connect game:tmnf ids:123456. Several at once: ids:123456,789012.

You get one code per account, looking like TMX-A7K2-M9QP.

  3. Put the code in your TMX profile

Open your profile on the exchange, edit it, and paste the code into the introduction / profile text box. Save.

Only you can edit that text, which is exactly why it works as proof. Formatting, capitals and BBCode do not matter — [b]tmx a7k2 m9qp[/b] matches just as well.

  4. Verify, then take it back out

Press Verify now on your profile, or type /verify in Discord. The bot also checks on its own every couple of minutes.

Once it says linked, delete the code from your profile again — it has done its job. Codes expire after 60 minutes; if yours ran out, just ask for a new one.

What you get

Why bother
  • One row on the leaderboards. Every account you have proved counts together — that is the default view now, on each exchange and on the overall board.
  • Your completion role, automatically. Granted from your total across all linked accounts, and kept current as you finish more.
  • A jump button. Signed in, every leaderboard shows where you are and scrolls you to it.
  • Your accounts, found. People looking at one of your profiles can see the others.

Completion roles

7 tiers
MapsRole
100+100 Completions
500+500 Completions
1,000+1 000 Completions
3,000+3 000 Completions
5,000+5 000 Completions
10,000+10 000 Completions
15,000+15 000 Completions

Only the highest earned role is held at a time. It updates within a few minutes of a new finish.

Questions people actually ask

Short answers

Can somebody claim my account?

No. An account belongs to exactly one Discord user, and claiming it needs a code placed in that account’s own profile text. If an account is already claimed, both the website and the bot refuse it up front and tell you so.

Do I have to use Discord?

For now, yes — it is the only account system this project has. We ask Discord for your username and avatar and nothing else. TMX itself does have a login, and if we are ever granted access to it, signing in with your exchange account would verify everything with no code at all.

What becomes public?

Only that these TMX accounts belong to the same player. Your Discord name is never shown on the site or on a leaderboard — it is how ownership was proved, not something the site is about. A combined row is labelled with your largest TMX account.

Can I undo it?

Any time. Unlink on your profile, or /disconnect in Discord. The accounts separate again on the next refresh.

Stuck? Ask in the Discord — the most common cause is the code sitting in the wrong field. It has to be the profile introduction text, not your display name or a comment on a map.
